Q: What's next?
A: The questions that remain open now that the core ideas run in SFW.
The product steps are on the roadmap.
Explored since 2021
Most of the 2021 list is now part of SFW:
- System entities: organizations, roles and per-object access, modelled like everything else
- i18n entities: labels and translations per app
- Data aggregation: approved calculations that roll up through every level
- Mapping to external data: existing databases mapped in place, read-only
- I/O entities: apps, lists, forms and reports described as data
- Taxonomic composite: kinds at any depth, each narrowing the one above
Open questions
- Time. Values valid over a period, and answering "what did we know, as of when?"
- Access as meaning. Who sees which records stated once, on the kind, and enforced
everywhere, including inside databases that are only mapped
- Output as the reverse of input. The same approved templates that read files, writing them
- Behaviour as data. Workflows (states, transitions, approvals, timers) described as facts on a kind
- Change as a draft. Model changes prepared, reviewed and published together
- Agents. Giving AI agents the model rather than raw tables, so they reason over relations and
derivations while acting for a named person, and only through what that person may do
- Composite facts and managed entities,
still open from the patterns
- Measuring the claim. Is describing an application as approved metadata really faster and
safer than generating code? To be measured, not assumed.
